Blair’s Labour government burnt billions on centralising computer systems by farming out the bids to dodgy firms (with a good bit of corruption thrown in too).
This is going to make that look like an exercise in public fiscal responsibility, handing over billions, and billions more in ongoing contracts, just before the bottom falls out of the AI grift and little to nothing is delivered.
This is definitely to make peoples lives better and not a way to keep the financiers/tech shitheads on board with labor.
