Thanks for looking, but yeah these aren’t quite what I’m looking for. They’ve got the gamer lights and buttons, but the sensors in these are all the same as super cheapo scam gaming mouses that you might see at the checkout at Canadian Tire or flooding Amazon, but they’re generally pretty bad to use. Like they lose tracking or “drop frames” and just aren’t as smooth to use as an actual nice gaming mouse.

Yeah it seems like everything is the exact same crappy jellybean off the shelf mouse put into different cases. Even the sensors in the high end vertical mouses like the MX master are only as good as just a regular desktop mouse.

Seems like capitalism just hasn’t made this market yet. Maybe in a few years when gamers start getting older.

They’ve been trying to replace it since like the 60s, and the most recent attempt flopped about 10 years ago.

A handful of cars have these weirdo dash pods now, they usually contain massive speakers, a bunch of sensors, or both at the same time.

Imagine trying to adjust the AC and the “wrong thing” you hit just made the music become deafeningly loud, and the only way to fix this is on the touch screen so you have to take your eyes completely off the road.

Imagine trying to turn on the blinker to make a turn and accidentally putting the car in reverse instead.

Imagine a car that literally does not have any way to control the door locks. It just doesn’t exist.

Imagine needing to find and enter a settings menu in order to turn on the headlights, defroster, or windshield wipers.

Imagine needing to use a keyboard search function in the settings menu to find things like mirror adjustment (which is also done on the touchscreen.)

Imagine having updates that change where these frequently used features are located so any imagination of “muscle memory” is impossible.

All of these are real problems people frequently experience in multiple cars made by multiple manufacturers.

What is even the point of half of these things, they can’t be sold to the military or cops and civilians can’t just have autonomous neighbourhood-conflagrator or machine gun drones, so these companies strapping weapons to off the shelf Alibaba robots are essentially building stupid illegal toys for a market that doesn’t exist.
