Simmons, the researcher, said these influencers are selling a lifestyle that offers a tantalizing alternative for women aiming to escape a life of dead-end 9-to-5s, especially in what they see as a bleak economic climate. And many are tapping into their resentment against a brand of feminism that hasn’t felt inclusive, or that simply hasn’t fulfilled its promise.

“But I’m not sure that turning yourself into a project to seduce a man is empowering at all,” Simmons said. “It just provides a kind of quick and easy solution to a few women, but it doesn’t liberate women as a whole.”

mmm… if only there was a political project that liberates men and women together as a whole, instead of just few. Oh, well.

Also completely tie your material well-being to one guy you have deliberately not picked based on character, fucking marry that guy, hope that he makes enough money to support a family on his own in this economy, and be prepared to lack a decade or two of working experience when you inevitably get divorced from that asshole and are stuck with his kids while he tries everything he can to dodge alimony payments. If you at least learned anything that allows you to hold down a job in the first place, god forbid if you went all in on this shit and dropped out because your plan was to get pregnant from him as soon as possible.

Liberal feminism’s approach of “just get a career and kids in a capitalist hellscape without proper child day care and abhorrent working conditions” was and is and will always be awful, but at least it’s miles better than this tradwife death trap.

Reading this article made me mad and watching a few of the videos made me madder, to the point where if I had a TikTok, I would do a They Live-style duet with them
