Lot of people mentioning kde connect. I’m going to take a moment to clarify, kde connevts functionality is modular. you need the sshfs package for it to mount the phones filesystem over ssh. Once you’ve done that, it works pretty normally.

I love and use linux just as much as the next communist, I’ve used as my daily driver for a decade. But we should be pointed, specific, and correct in our criticisms. The setting isn’t that hard to change, most people are not going to be touching shtml links and the like. If you want to stoke your m$ hate, this week at my work they added a copilot button to the start bar. It’s one menu and one click to remove, but still annoying. Especially because we’re not allowed to even use their stupid copilot shit legally.

Was also struggling with this shit recently. I found out about the concept of “digital signage” which is like, the kind of screen that’s used for a restaurant menu or an airport display. It’s certainly a dumb display, so no smart tv crap. But the quality is all low, ain’t exactly meant for good sharp picture. I ended up just getting a stupid ‘smart tv’ and have not hooked it up to the internet ever. It gets a display feed from my computer and that’s it.

LoongArch is cool and based, but I take issue with the phrase “isn’t related to MIPS”. LoongArch is a massive advancement, but MIPS is very much in the DNA of the architecture. I think a lot of it is temporarily leased or loaned. i was watching a retrobytws video recently, cant remember the exact name. but it was about this console that was ‘designed for girls’ (read what old men in suits think teenage girls want). He said a lot of.yputubers have made videos on it, but console is actually pretty rare. One or two people own pne amd loan it out to others for their videos.

Also auctioning. I gotta imagine some of it can be flipped.

Hmmm, that’s a lot to go over in there. I have family sharing setup with, let’s say, my found family. There are a lot of improvements listed, but also many things I’m worried about.

tbh why not jsut set them up with an ssh key that doesn’t have an associated passphrase? Besides that, if you don’t care about encrypting like you say, then you could replace all calls to ssh with telnet.
