Making great progress with the issues posted on here and flying through the github issues.
Planning on a 50% off sale too in the coming days / weeks.
Lj
Thanks for all your work on this. I really appreciate the improvements and fixes.
I’ll get it if it’s close enough to pay day XD
Thanks boss!
Back at it again with another exceptional update, cheers
That’s great to hear! Thank you
Test
Still considering that sale?
Yup. Pending the release today going without a hitch!
I hope all is well with you, LJ.
Still eagerly awaiting that sale so I can afford to give you some money.
Cool!
Thanks for all the great updates! Is it on the roadmap to make webms previewable instead of needing to open them in external browser?
This post for example gives me image was actually a webpage: https://slrpnk.net/post/7567695
I’ll take a look into that. For some reason the image viewer isn’t reading the mime type correctly.
Fixed for the next release.
Hm, I tight that would have been issue #164
Yeah I noticed that one but it says .mp4, webms are .webm. At any rate I updated to 109 and it still makes me open in browser to play webms.
Oh, .webms are indeed .webm 🤦♂️
Thanks for adding the archive.org option! You’re awesome!
It’s surprisingly useful!
Idk why but after the recent update my upvote and downvote colors got interchanged.
A recent change he made to align with the official lemmy colors, which in a sly wink are the exact opposite of reddit. Blue is upvote, orange is downvote.
You can change the colors back in options if you like. Its under theme management.
Thanks for the info. I will stick to the old colors for now. I changed them.
Takes a bit of getting used to the new ones but matches lemmy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
On the subject of opening internally. When I browse a link inside Sync, then navigate within to another page, would it be possible if when I select “open in browser” it will open the currently viewed page and not the original? If that makes any sense.
I often get deep into links in an article and have trouble figuring out the link path I followed again
Also THANK YOU FOR SWIFTKEY FIX
Just encountered an issue when editing a post body. The title changed to this:
I already fixed it but I’ll try again.
Yep, it turns to
Never mind I’m incapable of commenting it lol
<p><p>The Zombies - She's Not There</p></p>
Thanks for the update. Noticed that when swiping to vote on comments, the colors haven’t been updated.
Even after the latest update?
Nope, latest fixed it
Any chance on adding the option to color YouTube post links red, or similar?
Nothing like opening a post link in bed and in silence, then having YouTube blast my wife awake.
What kind of view are you using? I can see full YouTube links under the post thumbnail warning me where it’s gonna take me.
You can also silence the media volume on your phone if you’re in bed and not wanting to break the silence. I don’t think special markdown for a single domain is worth chasing, but I might be missing something.
I actually would also like red YouTube links. I’m using Compact view, and YouTube links are not easily distinguishable. It’s not a massive deal of course, but being able to quickly parse video links would be nice. It’s a similar slick kind of feature as highlighting sticky threads.
I can see the link, yes. But when you’re mindlessly clicking articles, it’s easy to miss.
Yea, I can put the volume down. But I have to remember to do that just for this. And have to remember to put it back.
I’m going off a feature that the Bacon reddit app had. YouTube links were red and stood out. Was super convenient. And that’s what this request is about: convenience.
If we stopped requesting things because there are workarounds, then we wouldn’t have neat features 😊
Editing post titles is adding HTML and the urlencoding it on me. If I edit a post I see <p> tags on it and editing it again ends up with url encoded values.
Fixed for the next release
I noticed the same thing if I share an image (e.g. share an image to a text message). It adds the <p> tags to the text.
Some new Lemmy changes are coming
Upon first glance hiding posts via API and a new alt text field for posts.
Niceeee
It never ends! 😉
Anyone else’s favourites randomly reset?
Spotted a bug there. Will fix for the next release, sorry about that.
No worries.

Hey, my comment in a other thread appeared to be in reply to the wrong comment earlier.
And my reply to kolanak appeared under the comment above after submission.
I assumed I had hit reply to the wrong comment the first time. This hasn’t happened to me before but I just tried again and same thing happened.
I like the changes, it’s working very well!
One thing that still bothers me is webm links. They show as gifs on posts, but when I click on them, they’ll give me a display saying something like, “Image was actually a webpage! Open in browser?” Is it possible to have them play in the app like gifs, or do I just need to open them separately in a browser every time? I don’t want to leave the app just to view a 5-second webm.
Thanks for all you’re doing!
I’ve fixed that for the next release ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ
Hey Lj, could you have a look at this? I think there’s a bug with scaling inline images:
Hi, I tried to test the link options menu item on these release notes but sync crashed. It seems that happens in all text only posts.
Spotted that too testing before I went to sleep. Will get it patched today!
Upvote and Downvote are not working, I get a ‘Network Error - Unable to Cast Vote’ notification.
Device information
Sync version: v24.03.12-19:36 Sync flavor: googlePlay Ultra user: true View type: Slides Push enabled: false Device: b0s Model: samsung SM-S908B Android: 14
Hmm can you vote on desktop? Just wondering if this is a restriction of bot accounts.
No that’s not working either, no error message is shown.
Can you try setting your account not as a bot?
I didn’t realise it was!
Working now it’s off, thanks.
Any updates on when notifications will be working? Love the updates!
Working on a huge overhaul to messaging at the moment. Completely redesigned, threaded direct message chains and notification support. Hoping to have something shippable early next week.
