They’re calling it Linux and it’s very very unfair. The Democrats refuse to say the words GNU plus Linux! And people are saying that Linux isn’t even a real operating system at all. It’s just another component. And you know what, they’re right, folks. There are many many vital system components that go into making an OS big league, you gotta trust me on this. The GNU corelibs? Tremendous. Shell utilities? Outstanding. Many people use GNU every day and they don’t even know it. It’s sad. And these people are going around calling it “LINUX!” It’s a terrible deal.

The media is no good and they’ll say “Trump! But don’t you use Linux?” And I gotta turn to them and say: look, Linux is the kernel. The kernel is very important and everybody loves the kernel. But guess what? If you have Linux by itself it’s garbage, believe me. Linux can only function in the context of a big league operating system. And more and more people are saying that the whole system is nothing more than GNU with Linux added—everyone is saying it. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux. It’s one of the worst deals we’ve ever made.
