    Though renewable energy systems are not without their share accidents caused by human and process errors, apart perhaps from major dam breaches, none are as disruptive as nuclear accidents.

    Perhaps not many direct deaths, but Chernobyl and Fukushima both resulted in a forced abandonment of the local area for the foreseeable future. And it could have been worse.

    There is this interesting popular science series about chemical compounds named “Things I wont work with”. I kinda think the same on a human level about nuclear technology. Sure, we’ve “tamed the atom”, but it’s like having a pitbull as your pet. It works, until it doesn’t. And when it doesn’t, it’s all kinds of bad.
