At first I thought you were referring to the X-Men and that kinda is the appeal of the X-Men. If you’re gay and have a degradation kink, X-Men is the comic for you.

Basically leaving things only to the canon. Instead of Death oh the Author, it’s The Author is a Lich.

It’s an over dependence on lore instead of reading into allegory or interpretations outside of the conscious scope of the creators/writers.

X-Men are just mutants and real people, not characters designed to explore marginalization.

I’m gonna ask my partner if I can write them a letter to tell them how I’m feeling. I wanted to have a conversation outright, but some mental health and ND things make that hard. I’ll ask them to talk to me about the letter after. I’m actually excited for this because I think we’re on the same page with a lot of it.
