An Australian ex-priest convicted of sexually abusing children had another 12 months added to his 39-year prison sentence on Tuesday for molesting a 72nd victim.

      It’s a bit pointless to argue the length of the punishment because any year added will be added to his corpse. Most legal systems do not stack their punishments as a flat rate like that. The first kid probably gave him most of the jail sentence and the rest added very little.

      Also I don’t think normal possession charges in Australia just gives you a fine because it’s not USA. If you look it up it says 2 years for possession but that includes carrying 50g of heroin so carrying a joint will not send you to jail.

      More like six months per victim, if you do the math. Australia really cares about their children, obviously.
