I think there are studies looking into exactly this, it’s worth looking for

Vesectomy is the way if you know for sure that you never want children - they aren’t reversible like birth control are and shouldn’t really be considered reversible at all because there’s a very real risk of them not being so
This exact problem is systematised in software and other infrastructure regions. Even hospitals for example have backup generators.
The problem is that power companies making resilient grids eats into their profits and so they won’t do it unless they’re compelled to
So, your second paragraph is interesting because I/my family have lived that experience; as an autistic person and as someone whose grandfather fled their country as a refugee due to a communist uprising
Autistic people were actually the very first group of people to be holocausted by the nazis, several years before Jewish people
Does that give me more right or credibility to share these ideas? should it?
I don’t think it’s made a difference in this case either, if we’re comparing it to other individuals who have made this point and the effects on foreign policy
Genuine Q: isn’t saying this should have come from a Jewish person a form of tribalism itself?
I’m of the opinion that critical thinking (like this piece) can be achieved by any person from any background, and we all should be engaging with the ideas that come up (and their merit, or lack thereof) rather than anything else if we’re interested in moving forward in a way that is equitable for all
IMO It seems a dangerous thing to be gatekeeping ideas from certain groups of people
That’s interesting, ordinance survey (in the UK) don’t do that, so it isn’t a universal standard
In the UK, you have to notice that the heights are reducing
Except all of the hills could be valleys, you need to see the numbers on the contours
Gotcha. That’s a shame
GMO != organic as far as I know?
Yea but notably property taxes pay for schools in the USA, council tax pays for roads, lights, bins etc
In the UK you don’t get to go to a better school just because your house costs more money
Council tax doesn’t pay for any of the things that property taxes do. The USA also has separate taxes for bin collection etc
I think that’s crazy
I also think that’s crazy. In the UK we pay stamp duty, a one time tax when you buy property. It’s much more if it isn’t your primary residence
Just because the person talking about rabies wasn’t clear, it can live in your system for years without symptoms
Again, as soon as you have symptoms you’re already dead
It’s not just me right? If I squint I see a skull? Very cool
I believe we already do this
This seems kind of ideal though, computers provide a near constant load (relatively speaking) that combines very well with nuclear energy.
Perhaps we should be asking why we haven’t already been doing this for the past decade?
Why does being able to access the unencrypted image pose such a problem?
Why is it damning?
I was under the impression they mentioned at some point torrenting things
