I’m partial to the 1960s. David Lean did Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago. Kubrick had Dr Strangelove and 2001. Hitchcock put out Psycho, Kurosawa did Yojimbo. Cool Hand Luke, Sergio Leone’s Dollars Trilogy.
Cinema was really ambitious and huge in scope, and directors with an eye for photography were doing some incredible, slow, lingering shots.
The only thing I can think of is that the jar he uses is very close to the diameter of the immersion blender, which restricts the oil incorporation into the emulsion. If you’re using a wider jar it might be allowing too much oil to flow in at once and breaking the emulsion?
I have no idea what that trailer was about, so that tracks with FromSoft, and I love them for it, and I will be playing this. Probably after another base game playthrough
This is actually a really good analysis of what makes a lot of these movies great!
Deserving. There’s a lot to be said about making way for new animation talent but Miyazaki put out one of his greatest movies with this one. It’s beautiful and moving and I had to pee the entire time I saw it and didn’t want to get up and miss anything
Well sure but it’s hurtful when you say it like that
Howard makes a cutting board cleaner, oil, and butcher block conditioner. I use the latter every few months on our handmade boards and bowls and it keeps them well protected. The instructions on the bottle suffice for application.
If your pieces are particularly dry it might be a good idea to use the oil followed by the conditioner. I’m sure other mineral oil products would do a similar job but I’ve had good luck with this one and a bottle has lasted years.

Aldens are pretty highly regarded for quality. People seem to like Grant Stone as well. I don’t own either, but I have a couple pairs of Rancourt & Co and love them. A few years ago they were doing at cost sales of limited styles, so if you’re in no hurry it might be worth getting on their mailing list and seeing if any more come up.

This isn’t an unpopular opinion this is just something that you think that people don’t like.
“Who called it the Guardian of Forever?”
“Well we don’t know, actually. Academy scientists assume that it’s some sort of life form that coalesced around the myriad beliefs of sentients regarding the understanding of time and adopted language to best fit their understanding.”
“So it gave itself that nickname?”
“In a sense, yes.”
“Like when me mate Paul had that ketamine and declared himself the Unstoppable Love God until the police wrestled him to the ground?”
“I… suppose you could say so.”

I don’t get it why would you staff a ship with a bunch of dilithium miners.
It was an easy recent favorite of mine after a playthrough. The atmosphere is so well done. It got me to finally play Alan Wake and I’ll definitely pick up that sequel at some point too.
I respect that people can have different reactions to things but I can’t imagine seeing Louise Fletcher and having anything but both glee and dread for a Kai Winn episode.

2:12, people can join in, and the lyrics don’t really matter
My wife has become an avid Switch gamer since we picked one up during COVID and she’s been excited for this one. It also happens to come out on her birthday, which makes this a pretty easy win for me. I’ve been showing her reviews all morning to get her hyped.
I don’t preorders as a rule but this one is sitting there ready to go for Friday. I had to cycle through a bunch of games to kick it off the home screen, so she currently thinks I just couldn’t decide what to play yesterday.
I’ve always been a casual runner, never really trained seriously and threw some gear on whenever my body started telling me it needed it. In recent years that’s led to a pretty lax schedule. Yesterday I ran 5k and it marked 6 months of running at least once a week, which is the most consistent I’ve been in about a decade. I’m pretty happy with that.
