I don’t recall. Interesting question.
I’m sure he would have been good but I appreciate him opting out for artistic reasons if that is what happened.
Those who are interested in the show may want to consider tracking down the David Mack comic run where the character made its debut. It has great art and character-driven writing, https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/139996.Daredevil_Vol_8.
I think the article’s connection to some of the aspects of the source material is relevant as well. As long as the conversation stays civil, I don’t see a problem with its inclusion in this community.
I was in the 90s and am again with the Taylor & Redondo run. I plan on picking that Dan Mora cover up. FYI if you weren’t already aware of it, !nightwing@lemmy.world.
Thanks for sharing. Hope and despair are a choice. One that can be drastically easier to make based on the environment in which they live. Those of us who can more easily choose hope can also offer it to those in need of it through our words and actions. LotR may have been Tolkien trying to create hope for himself. In doing so, he created a work that can also offer hope to others in dark times.
Thanks for sharing that! And a private Piped video at that. You get a 🫡 .
I understand your comment but it is just a hypothetical question sans need. :)
There are reputable studies out there that can answer your question.
Good point. Well-maintained ‘02 Honda CR-V here with 186k miles. I bike to work when weather and climate conditions allow which is most days May–November where I live. We got a second hand Tesla last year because my wife commutes a lot for work. With the latest news, I may try and hold onto the CR-V for even longer than next 2–3 years.
If it works for someone’s specific case than this is most certainly the way. 👊🏻
If presented with a binary choice between minimizing carbon footprint with privacy-evasive EV or sticking with more polluting ICE vehicle and keeping privacy, what would you choose? Which choice is more ethically sound? What is more important between mitigating human-caused climate change or preserving individual human privacy? 🤔
I agree that this does not qualify as a related post to this community. I’ll let the poster have 24 hours or so to delete it before it gets removed.
Thanks for sharing. Very thoughtfully written and an interesting read. 👍🏻
I understand your perspective and mostly share it. As I said in my post, I would have been happy to have had a deleted scene as I can appreciate how it might not fit the narrative arc of the final film. I also appreciate what was in the extended edition.
In fairness, I’m a big fan of the movies and think they are a solid adaptation. I’m glad they exist as many adaptations never even get close to that level of quality.
Yup. I still wished we lived in a universe where the ‘Scouring of the Shire’ was at least filmed as a deleted scene. It’s an important book end to the Fellowship Hobbits’ arcs.
Thanks! I hope to see something like it come to Voyager. I understand it isn’t mission critical, but I do think the presentation in the 2nd screenshot is an elegant way to show the community icon, banner and top-level information.
I don’t think it’s a bug, but just that community banners don’t appear anywhere within the app that I can tell. An example of a community sidebar that I moderate in Voyager is below.
Another example of the same community’s sidebar on Mlem is below. Make sense now? The community is here, https://lemmy.world/c/tolkien.
Try it now. It should work.
