Plot twist, the attackers are Kias
It’s incredible watching them slowly realise that they bet their hopes for utopia on a slightly more annoying customer service chatbot.
As someone who once was a transhumanist (back when there were still Socialists in the community) I almost feel bad for them. Almost. A lot of them are young and haven’t yet realised that hope from tech alone is always, always hollow. What they do with that knowledge…well…I got better, but I was always communist.
It wasn’t a regular thing, both my parents worked and sometimes no one could pick me up from an event. Also this was a pretty safe area and kids playing outside alone was still a thing.
Others have gotten the main points, but I’ll add one more.
Before Uber, there was no guarantee that your taxi would ever come.
You had to tell the dispatcher both your location and the destination, it would be relayed, and then the drivers would decide if it was worth the effort.
Often short suburban trips outside weekends would not be as profitable to drivers and so they wouldn’t pick you up and there was no way to tell except repeatedly calling up.
So, imagine 11 year old me, standing outside alone in 40 degree summer heat for 90 min waiting for a driver that never came. This happened several times.
Uber really did make things better for awhile.
No no, when communists do it it’s state ideological oppression, when Ancaps do it it’s the Watchdog state providing “essential stability guarantees” to the marketplace.
Gates needs to unfriend Kurzweil he has no defence against these brainworms
The Dragon in question is kitted for 3. There’s also an emergency evac capsule (Still a Soyuz I think EDIT: Yes, Soyuz MS-25!). But that’s only another 2-3 and having US astronauts brought back by Roscosmos would be…embarassing.
They’re Boeing to die!
(Actually probably not, Space X, Russia, or China will have to send something up to rescue them, and I don’t think Musk has a capsule ready for at least another 2 months.)
There was an experiment at my uni that involved opening up live kitten skulls and attaching electrodes to their open brains. They got PhD student applications.
Trust me there’s always someone whose marks are low enough and who’s desire to be a scientist is high enough.
I don’t think this is a particularly problematic experiment if proper ethics procedures are taken, we do shit to brain tissue all the time.
Of course proper procedures were not taken.
Would love to see the ethics committee report on this one.
Ive found it mostly useless. It constantly ignores simple commands like (make image a full length portrait). The writing is d tier at best, and it tends to collapse upon itself quickly.
Also it has no idea of context. Ask it to say…“draw a woman wearing a 1770s dress in a historically accurate manner”, and it will instantly draw something that is wrong even to a rank novice who cant tell panniers from a farthingale.
N64 fight me (goldeneye, complex, golden gun)
Epicureanism also has flaws but at least “try to arrange a world without pain or strife where you can grill with friends and just chill” actually indicates some useful actions to take.
Here’s some stats
88% of ad interactions are by bots, after anti bot measures are taken into account
Almost all advertising (>98%) online outside of product placement with influencers has 0 effect on sales.
Those advertising efforts that do have effects are either a)remarketing or b)entirely within major established brands.
This is true over almost all industries and in both b2c and b2b verticals, physical, ecom, and SaSS.
I mean…its just a combination of AI and the already bot ridden race to the bottom of digital marketing. Everyone is just trying to stop their clients from realising their ads have no effect unless they’re a major brand that can afford the big bucks.
Every major ad serving platform is provably lying on their stats and the ad agencies are double lying.
Has been for at least 18 months according to the internal white papers of the ad agencies that forgot to revoke my email subscriptions.
But they’re gathering the data to sell to use on the other guy’s Bazinga thing, now advertising has mostly collapsed. It’s like a city amateur theatre community, no one actually see the shows that aren’t in them, they’re just passing the same sad $20 note around in a circle. A fully closed bazinga loop that produces nothing, not even useless stuff.
