I like Dark Mages! I just cast Mire and triggered the Luna skill, RIP
Somehow earned myself a lifetime ticket to the gender carousel
Welp,
I’ll have to look into this, especially if it has the similar/same about:config as Librewolf.
ONE OF US
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ONE OF US
Well… the reason I didn’t quite specifically mention them them is because they have generic names and were random apps I found on Fdroid. The calculator is OpenCalc, which is just a simple FOSS calculator following the Material You design. The gallery app, Gallery, is a similar situation. A FOSS gallery app that follows Material You and looks much better than the stock Graphene OS gallery app.
This is great! I already use a lot of these, but this should make it really easy for anybody to start using FOSS. Just a warning, I remember seeing something on PrivacyGuides stating that the reason they only reccomend Fdroid-Basic for Fdroid is because 3rd party clients like Neo Store and Droidify DDOS the Fdroid servers. Fdroid basic doesn’t look as nice, but it does support other repos (for example, IzzyOnDroid or DivestOS).
Some apps that I use differently are:
Obtanium for apps (I switch between this and Fdroid basic depending on how I’m feeling). PrivacyGuides rec.
Gallery and Calculator replacements that fit in with Material You theme (extremely personal preference, I don’t like Fossify Gallery’s interface).
I use Auxio for music files, and Harmony Music for streaming. It’s mostly Auxio I want to talk about though, as it defaults to gapless playback and has a very clean and customizable (but also simple) UI. Harmony Music is just a YT Music front-end with no ads. *
Would love to see what others use as well, I’m always looking to find new and interesting software.
*Just relative to the music topic, but Metro may or may not be end-of-life, if that matters to anyone. It may not, it’s an offline music player anyway.
Privacy guides tends to be pretty good in terms of suggestions, and they don’t take ads of any kind, so I say: Yes! I think the sidebar post is a good idea as well, to cover the gaps left behind by Privacy Guides.
Just coming here (interrupting) to say that Bromite is no longer receiving updates. For a browser similar to Bromite, Cromite is a great option. Additionally, those who can’t use Vanadium always have Mulch (by Divest OS dev) as an option, it uses as much as it can from the Vanadium code and makes it available to all android devices.
May Servo save us all when it actually finishes development
This actually applies to ClearURLs as well, there’s another URL tracking blocklist that can be added to uBlock Origin by adding the URL to the custom filters list.
