I think folks get vocal about it because for a time, it actually affected everyone negatively since other companies wanted to follow apple’s choice to make special cables. But it’s is a predatory practice that only hurts you and creates waste for everyone. Some people go about it the wrong way, but they are trying to help you/everyone
