They had a huge influence. I’m not a Beatles fan yet I can see this.
They arguably created the first hard rock song ever.
They were pionneers of progressive rock.
They were precursors of doom metal.
And I’m probably forgetting some and surely don’t know all of the influence they had.
And they undoubtly had great variety in their songs and experimented a lot.

I think Muslims take this more seriously because, as someone who grew up in a region where most people identified Catholic (and most of the rest just had no religion) but didn’t practice much, I wasn’t even aware of that rule.
