Everything is possible of course.It already works with Friendica, but only with a workaround: as you have to respond to the advert with a ‘Reply to mentioned account’, you cannot use a direct message. Instead, you have to follow the Flohmarkt account, put it in a circle and then you can reply to this circle.
Did you know about https://github.com/supertestnet/friendica-marketplace ? Seems dead through.
I haven’t heard of that project.

Agree, they both speak ActivityPub, so it should be possible, would be interesting to see. They do need more code contributors tho
