Basically, A flat sheet is much easier to edit the text on.
If the sheet is crumpled, the text on it gets warped with the creases, if one were try to replace the text to pretend to be the poster, they would have to make the text match the creases or it would look very wrong.

that’s what’s asked for in the verification process. less difficult to fake verification pics that way i reckon
