That’s… A similar but very very different thing from this definitely racist comic.

Idk… I get that it could be interpreted as racist, and I also understand an increased alertness regarding such contents in the present context. But still, I’m tempted to give OP the benefit of the doubt. He provided his other inspiration in another comment Source comic and I kinda see how one could’ve made the connection between these two without a racist thought. The ape-man just looks like some of the apes in the Simpsons, I don’t think it’s supposed to be a black man’s caricature or anything.

Going to just jot you down as bad actor real quick here. You guys can pretend this isn’t the most blatant dog whistle all you want.

That’s only related in the sense that there’s an ape, they don’t say any of those racist lines in the Simpsons episode.

So it is. I have been wrong this entire thread. Not sure what else to do here other than admit that. Still feels super racist without context and like it’s just skating by on technicality, but you’re absolutely right and if I had watched the entire video I would have known that sooner. I can’t say for sure this is a dog whistle, because it does quote a show directly, but it still carries most of the hallmarks.
