    It’s wasn’t about happiness.

It was about contentedness, but that’s an awfully big word for most media readers, so journalists changed it to “happiness”.

When you go and ask Finns “are you content”, you’ll get “eh, can’t complain”, because complaining is un-Finnish.

I mean we don’t have to really fear being homeless or dying of hunger, but there’s various other issues. They’re just different.

Finnish answers to “how are you?” are hilarious.

      • Just ok
      • can’t complain
      • not too shit
      • everything said loud enough (pun’ey answer on how “how are you” is worded in Finnish “what are you hearing”)
      • just the same
      • well I guess nothing here
      • same shit

      and what else there is
