    this is confusing

if angel represents good, it’s opposite isn’t the angel of death or the grim reaper but a demon or satan

if we have grim reaper to left, and let’s consider for a moment life and death as opposites, what would represent life on the other side?

I liked it because of the ambivalence.

Death is not looking at the child, He stares at the angel of life as if he is waiting.

You could interpret it this way:

The angel of Life is protecting the child or, in a bigger view, every person from death. If the angel of life abandons us, we enter the domain of death.

I was not trying to go towards a biblical intepretation and i do not see death as evil. Maybe the choice of an angel for “life” was not the best choice.

Edit after a night of Sleep: It is interesting how hard wired religious themes are in ones subconcious. I wonder how i would have depicted life and death with another cultural background.
