Anyone can look at my youtube and know exactly what my current fixation is. It’s also annoying and makes it really hard to pull myself out of it. It’s like a hyperfixation amplifier.

Yes and I end up deleting the watch history, I only like videos that will help the algorithm, after a few videos it all goes back to normal

I don’t really use youtube anymore, I use newpipe, so I don’t really have all the suggestions. It’s been really helpful!

well its nice to see that im not the only one. something that tends to straighten it out a bit is when i put a bunch of videos in my save to watch later list or pick a channel that i can enjoy as background noise and let it run through a few of their videos

Have you tried clicking on the not interested button? Doing it for a few videos may help

We have algorithm-destroying superpowers. Targeted ads? Hah, that was last month’s hyperfixation, too late suckers!!

But yeah it’s a bit more annoying with YouTube.
