I’ve been trying the various clients and like Connect the best so far. However, one thing I am seeing is that Connect doesn’t pull in the post comments from lemmy.world while the others do. Connect says something about API error.
I know lemmy.world had some issues recently with the comments, but it seems odd that other apps are pulling them in just fine while Connect is not.
I’m not seeing this with any other instances.
Just wanted to share the data point.
Thanks
I posted with the exact same problem weeks ago and it is still an issue. The only ‘solution’ for me is to use a different app for lemmy.world. Because then, i have no problems seeing all comments. It’s something that happens all the time @PriorProject and it’s definitely not some random timeout. It’s unfortunate, because, of all the apps i’m trying out, Connect started crystalizing as my favorite app so far (though i’m waiting for Boost to come out and then it may change).
As i stated in my post: it usually says: Error: temporarily_disabled Just now pulling up a random post with 52 messages and none is showing up in Connect
Apologies as I didn’t search first to see if there were any other posts about this. But as for the questions, it happens all the time, even after logging out and back in or even deleting the account and adding back in.
If one uses the web view option, then all the comments show up. Maybe all the other apps are abusing a webview method while Connect is using the “approved” (but possibly busted) API. I’m no programmer though so that is just a wild thought.
My post was about 4 weeks ago, called Bug; comments gone?
And yes, i too can read all comments on the web, as well as in all the other apps.
I really hope it gets fixed, because it’s quite annoying to keep switching between apps, just because of this bug.
Seeing the number of upvotes, i’m guessing there are more people with the same issue.
Be well, everyone :-)
Tried to upload picture, but i get a 403: forbidden error, even when logged in
I also have this issue.
- Does this happen all the time or intermittently?
- If you retry does it work later?
- Can you link a post where it happens?
I just tested and it looks ok to me, but world is flaky sometimes. It could just be random timeouts from slowness that would self-resolve if you retry.
