I recently got a touch screen panel, 1280X800, and the screen is on 24/7 (which is fine). The only problem is it’s in my peripheral vision when I’m at my desk and it by default cycles through some stock images when not in use. The image changing catches my eye easily, and it’s just a little annoying. So I decided to put a single static image on it.
Does anyone here have any static image you keep on your wall-mounted displays when they aren’t in use, or any ideas for such an image?
I was going to fall back on just disabling the image all together and have the actual interface showing, but that’s boring.
I was thinking of something related to my home, saying like the {surname} household, or maybe a picture of my cats or something funny, I am not sure either way.
I figured some of you here might have thought about this already and might have some good suggestions.
A picture that you have taken yourself and that you like, so it is a positive memory. Landscape or plants, without people, makes it calm and soothing.
If you find that too boring, make it cycling again, but only once a day, not every 30 seconds.

I’d install a wall mounted box around it, with a non-transparent flap so it doesn’t bother me. And then maybe a biohazard logo on it for my inner child.
It’s the alarm system interface and (especially with an elderly person living with me), I don’t want to make it harder to arm or disarm. But I like the biohazard idea!
Make a jumpscare. 4 images that are normal and the last has a slight spooky difference. Like drastically widened smile.
Oh good idea. I don’t think I can (easily) make it change how long each one individually is displayed, but I could have like 5000 copies of the same exact image cycling relatively quickly (1 second each), and 1 copy of a spooky version of that image.
Yup! Or small changes gradually over like the last of them

I worked hard to get my LCARs panels working and I’ll be damned if I am going to let that work go to waste.
