I’m done episode 3 and I’m going “ugh”. Not in the same way that the first 5 seasons had me going UGH but still an unsettling feeling in my gut about the story Charlie Brooker is trying to tell. Ep 1 and 2 were pretty good on that front but I feel like ep 3 turned on a dime in believable character actions.

I’ve watched the first 2 episodes and really liked them. I saw someone complaining that Loch Henry doesn’t have a tech aspect, but I disagree. The principle of Black Mirror is to look at how tech interacts with people, but that doesn’t have to be new technology. Film is a technology that changed the world, and enables us to learn about others and connect with our family more, for better and worse.

Ah tech wasn’t a strong theme in these, it was very twilight zone. No judgement but the tech in Loch Henry is nearly a reach.

There’s zero tech in one of the other episodes later.

Even though the sci-fi elements were very light this season, I liked it. It’s not as good as the first seasons, but it’s good. My favorite was Joane is Awful, and my least favorite was Demon 79 (it was way too supernatural to fit in the show’s premise). Beyond the Sea would work better if they shortened it to the traditional 50 minute episode length.

Maybe I have mistaken but I thought Black Mirror involves sci-fi elements?

Did I really watched a Black Mirror season? Some episode involves none of sci-fi part, and even straight up in supernatural category.

Yeah, I bailed on the final episode because the rest was so underwhelming, and the last episode was bordering on feature length.

It’s a shame because I’m a big fan of Charlie Brooker, I loved the earlier seasons.

I thought Joan Is Awful was alright, but too much time was spent on the premise and the twist felt rushed. Loch Henry was good, but not the “what would happen if <insert sci-fi tech> was real” type premise that I’ve come to expect from the show. Beyond the Sea was about 40 minutes too long. Mazey Day… I have no idea what they were thinking.

I genuinely wish I liked it more, but this is two underwhelming seasons in a row for me now 😕

Loch Henry would have ended in his mother’s bedroom if or the kitchen table if it was season 1 or 2

I watched the first two, really didn’t like them at all, checked discussions online and saw that there were very mixed reactions, but basically decided that the rest of the season just wasn’t for me. I enjoyed the dystopic futuristic elements of the other seasons, and while I guess it’s ok to deviate from that, I didn’t feel obligated to watch.
