The Ultimate Version is basically just the Space Marine and Tyranid Combat Patrol Box in one Box
And I don’t now abput the Infernus Marines in a Starter Box… yeah, they seem to be decent, but for someone that wants to start out with 40k, would they really be the best/first choice for Space Marines? (unless you want to do Salamanders)
Also there is the Problem with the Ripper swarm again. Two sets of Termagaunts would make a full size Unit, but then you only have 2 Ripper Swarms, you need 3 for a legal full strenght unit of them
Yeah I’m not the biggest fan of them to be honest. But also most of the Leviathan minis are kinda meh. The terminators are great but I’d like the full squad with all the options. Especially given how everything is priced with all the options rolled in now. The character models are beautiful. Aside from that, from the space marine side, it’s pretty much a pass for me.
Mm I kind of agree. But I’m not personally a fan of tyranids and SM. If I where I could probably see myself being interested.
However, I do hope they have a serious discount for the introductory box. If it where to be priced under 100 euros or so preferably significantly under then I think ot would be a great to lure new players in to the hobby!
Given these are basically just updates to the existing starter sets using sprues out of the Leviathan box instead of the Indomitus one, I’m not surprised they’re a bit wonky. It is interesting to see which characters are being put in the box though, since those generally stayed in the starter sets and didn’t get separate releases unless they were different sculpts, or just haven’t had separate releases at all like the Necron Royal Warden. If the same holds the very oddball Winged Tyranid Prime might be staying in the starter boxes, which is probably for the best honestly.
Is it just me or do these feel kinda…meh?
