We’re already being documented by the government record keepers, but I’m forced to bring my original SSN card to my fucking employer so they can make a copy of it?? What the hell is the point of a background check if you cant verify my identity there? This stupid number can ruin your life if it falls in the wrong hands and there’s no regulation at all. Official government documentation even says to not bring the card with you or use it for any other reason except for official government tax purposes, and yet in the same breath, another agency will use if to verify your identity.
