The mother is advocating that a murderer, who premeditated and announced their intentions before killing two people, should be released earlier than the courts decided.
The mother is putting her own desire to be seen as merciful above the safety of everyone else who would be at risk if the murderer was released early. That’s incredibly selfish.
If she had given any thought to the other people victimized, and the threat this murderer would pose to others by being released early then she wouldn’t have said it.
Most likely she’s just a narcissist, but even if I’m wrong about her motivations what she did was deeply misguided.
Someone out there might avoid being killed because the court knew better than to listen to the mother.

I’d bet my life that she’s put significantly more thought into this than either of us could possibly imagine, and that calling her a narcissist is simply closed-minded and pathetic. She’s a grieving mother ffs.

Almost no one does an act this heinous, sociopaths of this level don’t just get better in prison, even in places where they actually try to rehabilitate them.
There’s a lot of people out there that will do anything to promote themselves, and it would not be the least bit surprising if someone used their own kid’s death to get praised as a saint, to get news coverage, and to have thousands of strangers talking about how “they’d be proud if their own mother did this”.
At the end of the day she advocated for something that is deeply unjust, and threatens the safety of others. Yeah, she lost her kid. She’s probably traumatized, but that doesn’t change the fact that this whole event allowed her to publicly show that she doesn’t have any consideration for others. Just wants to use this as an opportunity to be the center of attention.
