Please please please can we re-make ffviii? That was the game that brought me into RPGs. Everything was so interconnected, the story was wild, and it clearly had a lot of back story/ancillary story dropped. I would pre-order it in a heartbeat to go along with the other 4 versions I have of it already.
I’d love a prequel with Adel and Laguna. Laguna’s story in particular is a heartbreaker.
Also, a prequel/sequel following Ultimecia as she becomes jaded and bitter from SeeDs trying to kill her due to some prophecy. Eventually becoming the Ultimecia we know.
Laguna kiros and Ward had so much more story to be given. Along with cid and edea.
I loved the integration of all of the mechanics, very much like all the threads in the story, hell I would still love to hear more about gf’s and magic in that world, if anything I think they should make the junction system deeper, have equipment that is selectable and has different levels of attunability to each guardian force and type of magic.
Don’t go the wrong way in remaking ffviii, make it even deeper!
