How many Republicans political careers have been ruined by Donald Trump, even after aligning themselves with him, but not being sufficiently loyal?

Ronna McDaniel, Mike Pence, Rudy Giuliani, all have been cast into the Republican wilderness. Lauren Boebert is likely to not get reelected. Ron DeSantis had to run back to Florida with his tail between his legs. Edit: how could I have forgotten Kevin?

Of course, there are also Republicans whose careers have been ruined by opposing Trump. Liz Cheney, Adam Kinsinger, other Republicans who voted for his impeachment. Mitt Romney wouldn’t bend the knee and now nobody listens to him. It looks like the Senators who negotiated this Immigration deal are on their way out, too.

Chris Christie managed to become irrelevant both as a Trump ally and critic.

It all kind of looks a bit like Stalin’s purges, now that I think about it, except with far less torture and murder.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Mr. Trump is then likely to promote the chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party, Michael Whatley, as her replacement, according to several people familiar with the discussions.

Ms. McDaniel has faced months of pressure, a campaign from Trump-allied forces to unseat her and growing dissatisfaction and anxiety in the Trump camp about the strained finances of the R.N.C.

And despite animosity toward Ms. McDaniel from some of Mr. Trump’s closest allies, he has been uncharacteristically gentle as he has begun to acknowledge her imminent departure in public comments.

“I think she knows that,” Mr. Trump told the right-wing media site Newsmax in an interview that ran shortly after his meeting with Ms. McDaniel, when asked if it was time for her to step aside.

He spoke with Mr. Trump in recent days and expressed his interest in the job of chairman if Ms. McDaniel were to leave, according to three people briefed on his thinking.

For instance, Laura Loomer, a far-right activist who supports Mr. Trump, is publicly opposing Jessica Patterson, the chair of the California Republican Party, for that position.
