You forget the delays and cancellations
Tja. Network was overloaded before, so now it starts breaking. Luckily part of the problem are track works aimed at increasing capacity.
But you are right, there is lots to be done. Maybe the politicians will see the surge of travellers and finally take network extensions and increased fault resilliency seroious now.
The delays and cancellations were already a big problem of the network. But its still a good thing that we now have such a thing like the Deutschland Ticket. It gives people that did not have the money the possibility to travel again and when the Goverment sees that Rail gets used much. There is hope that they will invest more in it
Also local tickets for public transit decreased in expense. So a lot of people can now afford using local transports. I feel that because the busses are filled far more often.
But yeah. There you see where everyone slept on. Investing in a better network. Also a lot of people don’t want to become a bus or train driver. It’s a job where is a shift all the time in the year and people can be rude and so on.
But the other side is: it opens possiblities for a lot of people. Even getting a job across town.

The job possibility part is exactly what may benefit me soon, I applied for a job at DB because I wanted to do something that benefits the public transport system.
That’s very nice. Applied years ago on two different jobs but got a nay unfortunately. The benefits are also pretty good.

I use the public transit (now with my Deutschland Ticket!) for all my transit including work commuting. The serious delays or cancelations are rare. I’m always on time and seldomly put out by any construction or other delays.
I suppose when you take your car there is never any traffic or road construction and you always find parking immediately!
