I can see front page but then filtering by subscription, local etc I get “something went wrong” message. It’s the app broken or just me? I cleared cache just in case but not working still.

Do you have accounts logged in on more than one instance? One of my accounts is with an instance that just updated to the Lemmy 0.19 beta yesterday which doesn’t with with all clients. Once I removed that account from LiftOff everything went back to normal.

Seems fine for me, maybe .world had a brief outage or something? Liftoff usually freaks out when that happens.

          People are so weird.

Hmm you both have me worried now, I have so many other apps installed and was planning to test them out for when Liftoff inevitably dies during the 0.19 switchover. But if it’s happening early, nooooooo I am not prepared 😱

The Lemmy devs put out a list of “breaking changes” coming with the next big core update, and advised app devs to be ready for them. Since as far as I know we’ve not heard much from the Liftoff developer since his twins arrived (which, clearly, understandable!) a lot of people assume this means it’s not being actively worked on and will probably break when 0.19 hits. Could be wrong, of course!

Tbh I’m not sure on alternatives. None of the others have the same easy coziness to me. But I might have more of a play around with Summit and see if I can get that looking a bit less brash, because the multicommunity feature is great.
