In in the same boat as you, right down to the industry. Except I’m in the US and I’m only experienced enough to be a level 2 tech.

I have a friend tracking down a hybrid position lead at his company, but the commute for the in person days would be 1.5 hrs at least one way. He’s going to be seeing what the pay is and how many days I’d need to be in the office so I know if it’d be worth it. I don’t want to waste my time and the time of his coworkers if the pay and schedule wouldn’t be right.

My workplace had become super toxic and I’m desperate for another job, but the market is abysmal. I’m hoping for a miracle, because I want out of my current job asap

I’ve been making plans to go out and help the cause. It’s been hard because I’m barely surviving with the income I make and my health has been pretty bad. I do remind everyone I know to vote and I provide information on things to those people so they can make informed decisions. I’m going to look into online stuff that I can do to help and I’m going to the next No Kings thing

My deeply republican town just voted in all democrats into position of power tonight. Looks like a lot of other places in my state had the same happen. I’m feeling hope for the first time in years.

I’m never going to be a parent and I can only tolerate kids in small doses, but I do know that if a small child hands you something even remotely phone-like, you answer that shit.

Every day I’m so much more thankful for Lemmy existing. Joining the exodus when third-party reddit apps died has been great for my overall online experience. Lemmy may not have the traffic that reddit does, but the quality of posts here and the community makes up for that.

I love encountering people I recognize in random posts. Found some comments about my horse in a post on a community separate from the one I post pics of her in and the post had nothing to do with her. Made me feel really happy to stumble across that. You can’t get that kinda wholesome shit with reddit.
