Findings indicate that Spanish, French and Italian populations received steppe ancestry from Bell Beaker groups, while Greek and Armenian groups acquired ancestry directly from Yamnaya populations. Their results are consistent with the Italo-Celtic and Graeco-Armenian linguistic models.

my brain glitched for a second and I read this as “ancient gnomes” and I had already imagined an entire study where various words for fae / little people were used to trace the origins of ancient languages and when I finally figured out what was actually going on I was pretty disappointed tbh.
