“Greedy conservative trying his best to prevent smarter people from advancing science and society” is a better title. Every single penny spent on science research like this is yielding a 10-100 fold return for society in the long run. I really can’t stress enough how important it is for society that scientists to have access to those grants and collaborations.

Even worse: In the preceeding scheme “Horizon 2020”, the UK was by far the largest recipient.

I hope the EU makes it clear to him that the time of “UK special discounts” and other kinds of special treatments are over

I don’t know if this is the best environment for them, considering that Lindner cut the budget for research. We already spend very little compared to GDP. (I know Horizon people take their grants with them, but there is also a time after this grant)

Lindner cut a lot of stuff because we somehow have to balance a gigantic amount of Expenditure that is absolutely necessary since 10 years ago and his party’s absolute take on not increasing taxes (wich is the only thing FDP currently holds on to basically)

I know we cut spendings, but it’s not like we don’t spend money still, and the state isn’t the only sponsor here either.
