I don’t think we will see much manufacturing returned to the US. We will see companies swap their outsource country to other SEA countries and still raise prices pretending manufacturing costs went way up.
It’s crazy to me that outsourcing labor is such a common practice that these mega-corporations can simply shuffle factories around to keep their labor costs soul-crushingly low. Bringing the factories back to the US is a laughable suggestion for these companies at this point. Stuff should cost a lot more, and the people who work the factories should also receive more. I suspect the only people getting more money out of this will be Trump and the mega corporations.
Technically the money is going to the government’s coffers so it’s one way to compensate for lowering taxes… The problem being that it affects those with less money much more than those who are rich, contrary to taxes which are usually progressively higher as people make more money…

Funny how that works ಠ_ಠ
“With a little extra on the side for us” /s
I mean, this is the CEOs way of low key saying “Yes, pricesare gonna go up and we want you to know whose fault it is.”
“For the common good we will lower our profits.”

Of course tariffs mean higher prices for the consumer ya fucking rubes!
It would take decades for these manufacturing of these products to be made here. If you’re really in this for the benefits, it’s for your children and grandchildren.
Weird how the people that are willing to make that sacrifice aren’t willing to it for climate change.
These people have no idea how tariffs actually work
Trickle down works!
Ironically, they say this as they start to piss themselves as a generation
