Wow thanks for posting. I wasn’t aware of this. I guess I’m not the only one who thinks morrowind is the best elder scrolls game.
Literally just installed Morrowind and OpenMW through lutris tonight. Looks like I’ll have this update to look forward to though!
While you’re at it, add Tamriel Rebuilt! There’s a huge amount of progress made and it basically doubles the playable map with quests, npcs, etc!
looks great, is there any easy way to get it working in Linux with OpenMW? modding morrowind can be a bit…finicky lol
Tamriel Rebuilt has an installation guide for that which is OS-agnostic.
https://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/content/how-install-tamriel-rebuilt
It’s basically just:
- Choose which optional patches you want (Plugin compatibility patches, make factions in Tamriel rebuilt part of the factions of Morrowind etc)
- Copy the according .esm’s into your Data Files folder
- Register the .bsa files (contain all the assets)
It’s really basic, I’ve had it working on linux with openmw before.
It’s not like other mods, I think it’s just selecting an extra ESM file or something.
This article doesn’t even cover the cooler new features of 0.48:
- Partial support for Lua mods
- Portable installation
- Magic codebase refactored so that The Lady birthsign finally matches vanilla behavior
Huzzah!
I just wish OMW or something similar to Android was still in development. Anyone that knows anything about this?
Ugly grammar in that title.
