I’m in Daegu myself. Enjoy the relative progressiveness of the capital city. Down here that guy would get beaten.
Yeah, much love and respect
Thanks. Luckily there are some people here who have a smidge of empathy. They are few and far between, but not nonexistent.
I live in a small town in South Dakota, and I can relate to this sentiment so well
Hell yeah!

Two things can be true at the same time. Palestine is a horrible place for us queer folks, and Israel is committing atrocities against the Palestinian population.
I mean it’s kinda hard to progress socially when you have been living under aparteid for the last 76 years.
100%. This is why it’s important to support Palestinian liberation, and why people pointing out that technically Israel is more LGBT friendly are just downplaying genocide.
A people under constant duress will be incredibly reactionary, and the path out of that mindset is progression, not extermination.
Netanyahu has propped up Hamas for decades in order to separate the West Bank from Gaza. There hasn’t been an election in Gaza for 18 years so nobody there had had the opportunity to choose an alternative anyway. Hamas didn’t even get the majority of votes in that election. Finally, plenty of people who don’t support Hamas, like queer folks and babies, are being indiscriminately murdered by the IDF.
The people in this photo are making a not uncomplicated but ultimately moral stance.

That’s especially crazy about the “Palestinians voted for Hamas”. With the median age in gaza a bit below 18 years the majority of Gazans wasn’t even alive in the last election. Of the adults about half weren’t of voting age during that time.

Did I accidentally post on r/conservative?
What kind of person accuses queer people in Seoul of “virtue signalling” for expressing support of Palestine? This isn’t the government or a corporation, but genuine people at Pride (in a location btw where it takes a massive amount of courage to be openly queer – my cousin is from Seoul)

I don’t see how it doesn’t make sense unless you are completely clueless about what solidarity means.
Why do you care that someone has juxtaposed them?
Expressing an opinion while queer = virtue signalling?
If that were the case, I’d be doing the same? I don’t understand your angle here, it doesn’t dismiss my points.

“Can we just stop talking about genocide – have you considered the genocidaires have feewings too?”
L
Edit: I’d strongly encourage everyone to please read Mare’s comment history. It’s … really something else. A lot of downplaying the fact that the US and Israel are committing a genocide.
Can we stop being intersectional? Can we stop doing other things? Can we stop caring about issues? Can we regress? Can we regress? Can we regress?
:-( I wanted an audio link.
There are lots of videos of pro-Palestine protests in Seoul, but unfortunately I can’t find any of these particular people at Pride
The month has just started, so I’m sure we’ll see more, hopefully!
I was imagining something amazing. Drum and Sax like Morphine used to play.
Oh yes! That sounds amazing
Always nice to find someone else who loves the musical stylings of Morphine
I caught them live once. Truly the Epic Band of Bass!
