[Woj] Free agent G Dillon Brooks has agreed on a four-year, $80 million contract with the Houston Rockets, his agent Mike George of @OneLegacySports tells ESPN. Rockets have now landed two targets in free agency — Fred VanVleet and Brooks.
63 million a year for a Brooks/Vanvleet backcourt is something else lmao
Maybe brooks will be more humble? Unlikely. Houston will be a hot mess this year.
They will be must watch TV for the wrong reasons!!
Wouldn’t the backcourt be Vanvleet and Green?
I’m guessing fvv/jalen green/brooks/Jabari/sengun. Mills, Christopher, whitmore, jeff green and landale off the bench? Defense is a question mark but they could push for the playin if green and Jabari take a step forward under Udoka.
They also still have KPJ and Amen Thompson as well. It’s going to be interesting seeing how that guard rotation shakes out.
No way. What are the Rockets doing?
Their best
Their best at shooting themselves in the foot.
Nobody knows that, including their management.
Not sure.
Wait why??? This feels stupid lol
Was there competition for him? This seems like a gigantic overpay especially after Memphis saying he wouldn’t return under any circumstances.
Not a fan of this signing at all as a Rockets fan. FVF I don’t mind because he can help lead the young guys for the next two years and then Amen takes over. Brooks I just don’t get.
Hey Rockets, I’m still available
rockets, sign this frog
Massive overpay.
Maybe they can front load it so that in 2 years it’s a reasonable contract? Idk
Surely this will bring some maturity to the young squad
“Maturity” to not speak to the media after they lose while talking a lot of shit before the game
Wow, I know he’s a good defender and all but that’s a lot of money + years committed.
Brooks isn’t as bad as his reputation would lead you believe, but I do not love that contract at all…
Yeah people were joking? he should be out of the league. 80 mill though…

The Rockets seem like they’ll be fun to watch and maybe this pushes them closer to being a play-in team?
