Hadn’t heard of it, looks right up my alley. Wishlisted for the next sale :)
I found the unresolved plot insanely unsatisfying.
It was an interesting game for sure, good game play, art was excellent, story was kinda… all over the place. I really wanted to have some of the mysteries explained and wrapped up because that was the most compelling part and when they weren’t I was quite unhappy.
I mean the story itself is a little confusing, but it was the world and the characters that I ultimately fell in love with. Also, I think it does its job well enough to set up the tone and emotion throughout the game, the ending events had me crying harder than any game within recent memory.
Ultimately what drives the game forward for me, and what kept me going was wanting to see Sam and John get through everything safely. I think the father/adoptive daughter relationship is one of the most powerful I’ve ever seen driven in a video game narrative, especially with a silent protagonist.
Nice. I was looking for something new to play.
This isn’t a meme. This is an ad.
Your right, it is kinda an ad, but I just enjoyed it so much.
Almost as much as I have enjoyed One Step from Eden! An action RPG/card game based off the gameplay of the Mega Man Battle Network series. If you’re not into wordy RPGs or complex narratives, OSFE tosses you straight into the action! Enjoy crafting your own strategies and combining cards with character’s abilities as you fight your way through hoards of enemies, defeat powerful bosses, and choose who’s live you spare or snuff out as you fight your way towards Eden!
Now available on Steam, or your gaming platform of choice!
You ever play Alundra?
No I haven’t, but it looks cool based on the synopsis and footage I’ve seen.
As a person who messes around in RPGmaker, a lot of the graphics look very familiar.
It looks and plays like a Link to the Past but with more advanced graphics.
The graphics kinda remind me of Secret of Evermore, which is one of my favorite SNES games. Will definitely give it a look.
I own this game. I really wanna like it. It’s beautiful! My issue is that every time I sit down to play it, I feel like the game is 95% dialogue, 3% walking around town, and 2% action. Every few months I pick it up again, hoping it was only dialogue heavy for the intro. I still haven’t made it out of the starting town, but I’m several hours in at this point. Does it ever let up with the incessant paragraphs of middling exposition?
It is a wordy game throughout, but The action does pick up once you leave the underground. Chapters 3-5 are probably where you’re doing the most dungeons and missions.
