Larian’s latest is off to a great start and might be worth the 20-year wait.

Not a ton more than what’s been available since early access, but I love seeing these big name articles popping up with the same sort of wonder and intrigue. Everyone who I talk to has been amazed about all the things you can do, and to see that in a big name review is awesome.

Baldur’s Gate 3’s being a properly big deal has been great to see. DOS2 got great reviews but I would say it was just barely a mainstream game; I would have to tell my friends about it. Now I’ve got people telling me about things relating to Baldur’s Gate 3. I hope Larian absolutely crushes it here in terms of sales and attention, and if the whole package is as good as we hope I’d love to see some awards come their way too

DOS2 was PC Gamer’s GOTY in 2017 as a PC exclusive, so it will be very interesting to see how it does now that it’s on consoles as well. Especially in such a big year for gaming.

I was a die hard fan of all the old isometric DND games, refused to grab the early access for BG3 because I wanted to enjoy the full experience, gotta say so far it’s delivering in spades. Really enjoying the depth of mechanics in the game, to many RPG games these days gloss over mechanics or abstracting them. Right now I have dozens of options for combat for each character and I love finding new combos that work for me.
