Inspired by r/nosleep, but without the “Everything here is true” and “You can’t criticize the OP” rule. Post your scariest original short stories here. Rules are simple: 1. Be nice, criticize constructively, no name-calling. 2. No obvious AI generated stories, or other spam. 3. Everything posted here is creative fiction, any similarity to real life is pure coincidence. 4. Prompts are allowed, but should be prefaced with “[WP]” 5. Collaborative storytelling is fun, so if you’d like to continue your own story or other people’s story as a series in the comments, start your comment with [CHAIN] 6. Troll/Parody Stories would be allowed on Sundays, but the title should start with “[PARODY]”

Nosleep was one of my favorite subreddits before the quality dropped and the stories there became frankly absurd. Since there’s a lack of creative writing communities around, I thought I’d make one for fun.

So, if you have some pent-up creative energy from not being able to write stories on relationship_advice anymore, come try to scare your fellow lemmings here!

    Nosleep was my favorite sub (at least in my top 7). There was great content there, even if you had to search for it a bit.

    Nice to stumble across your community and I’m excited to see what I come across!
